PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Hardkorr 12V Toaster is a two-slice, 500W electric toaster designed to run directly from a suitable 12V DC power system. The time control dial is marked from 1 to 7, with a operating time of approximately 3 minutes to 8 minutes.
Package Contents
1x 12V toaster
1x Crumb tray
POWER SOURCE AND FUSE GUIDE
The toaster is a high-current appliance and MUST be supplied by a correctly designed 12V DC circuit that can supply 50A @ 12V DC continuous.
Note:
- 12V DC supply only. Do not connect the toaster to 24V DC or 240V AC.
- The toaster can draw approx. 43-45.8A . The outlet, cable and connectors must be rated for sustained 50A current.
- Protect the supply circuit with the specified 50A midi-fuse. Never bypass a fuse or fit a larger/smaller fuse.
- Have the circuit checked by a qualified automotive electrician when its suitability is uncertain.
BEFORE FIRST USE
-
Remove all packaging and inspect the toaster, cable, Anderson connector and MIDI fuse/holder. Do not use damaged equipment.
- Place the toaster on its intended cooking surface and confirm the lead can reach the Anderson outlet without tension, sharp bends or contact with hot surfaces.
- Check your 12V DC auxiliary battery or power system is sufficiently charged.
- Check your Anderson plug and cable are suitable for sustained 50A continuous loads.
- Check there is no fuse smaller than 50A fitted to your Anderson plug circuit.
- Confirm No cigarette-socket to Anderson adaptor is being used.
OPERATING THE TOASTER
- Prepare the cooking area and confirm the supply circuit meets every item in the above "Before First Use" list.
- Grip the Anderson plug housing and push it firmly into the matching 12V Anderson plug outlet until fully seated. Never pull or push on the cable itself.
- Turn the timer knob gradually toward the required setting (1-7).
-
Press the lever all the way down until it latches into place
- When the timer is finished, the latch will automatically pop up to it's original position and stop heating
- When cooking is complete, disconnect the Anderson plug from the supply.
- Leave the toaster on its stable surface until fully cooled before moving, cleaning or storing it.
Note: The toaster MUST be powered in order for the lever to latch in the bottom position and begin heating. If no 12V DC power is supplied, the lever will automatically spring back to the top position.

CLEANING AND STORAGE
- Disconnect the Anderson plug and allow the toaster to cool completely.
- Remove loose food with a soft paper towel or non-abrasive utensil.
- Remove the crumb tray located underneath the toaster and dispose of the crumbs. Wipe out with a clean damp cloth, or rinse with warm water and dry before sliding it back into the toaster.

TROUBLESHOOTING
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
| No heat | Supply off, low battery, loose plug, open fuse or incorrect polarity | Disconnect. Check battery, outlet, connector seating, polarity and the specified fuse. Do not bypass the fuse. |
| Slow heating |
Low voltage, long/undersized cable, poor connection or large cold food load |
Use a correctly rated Anderson circuit close to the battery. Charge the battery and reduce the food load if required. |
| Fuse blows |
Short circuit, wiring fault or overload |
Disconnect immediately. Find and correct the fault before replacing the fuse with the specified rating. Never fit a larger fuse merely to prevent blowing. |
| Plug or lead hot | Loose, dirty, damaged or underrated connection | Stop immediately and disconnect when safe. Inspect the outlet, cable and connector before further use. |
| Lever immediately returns to the up position | Unit not receiving power |
Connect the Anderson cable to a suitable 12V DC power supply. Check that any fuses between the appliance and power source are in tact. |
