Mine Spec

We don't use the "mine-spec" designation lightly when talking about these lights. We've engineered them to be incredibly durable, and extensively tested them to ensure they will perform under extreme duress in the real world. They are certified as compliant with the following standards:

  • IK08: Can survive up to a 5 joule impact from any direction without failing
  • IEC 60068-2-6 and ISO16750-1: Can survive constant exposure to 15G (R.M.S.) of vibration in the 24-2000Hz range
  • IP68 & IP69K: Completely resistant to dust ingress, can handle submersion in 3m of water for 30 minutes and high-temperature water jets at 8-10MPa pressure for 2 minutes
  • CISPR25 Class 3: Will not unduly interfere with radio signals
  • IEC 60068-2-14: Resistant to thermal shock - test parameters were 85°C max / -40°C min, 30 min per cycle, 40 cycles total

In addition, our manufacturing facility has been certified in accordance with the following international standards:

  • ISO 9001: Ensures quality management systems have been implemented
  • ISO 14001: Ensures environmental management systems have been implemented

The toughest work lights we've ever made.

When failure is not an option, this is the only work light you need. It’s been designed from the ground up to take a hell of a beating, and it’s got all the certifications to prove it.

Worried about vibration? Not a problem for this light: it’s been tested to ensure it can survive 15G (R.M.S.) of vibration @ 24-2000Hz, meaning it will have no trouble with corrugations, bumps, holes, rocks or engine vibration.

What about impact? Again, not an issue. They’ve been certified to IK08 standard, which means they can handle a severe impact without missing a beat.

Add to this the outstanding optoelectronic engineering that sees it produce a 135 degree flood beam and a forward distance of 1 lux at 80m, plus full compliance with all international standards, and you’ve got yourself a light without equal.

New Hyperflood™ light beam.

These lights produce a smooth, even beam with no bright or dark spots through a full 135 degree range from source, up to a maximum forward distance of 1 lux @ 80m.

Genuine parts, precision optics.

Hardkorr’s HKXDW30MR work lights are made using genuine top-grade OSRAM® LED chips sourced from authorised agents, to ensure even light throw, correct colour rendering and long service life. These chips are matched with custom engineered reflectors that are manufactured to nanometre precision, and secured within high-quality aluminium housing which is designed to effectively dissipate heat and protect the sensitive components within.

This attention to detail ensures that every unit we manufacture gives consistent performance, and helps us fulfil our ambition to be the world’s most trusted manufacturer of LED lighting.

Frequently asked questions

Lumens simply measures the total quantity of light emitted at the source. It does not take into account the ability of the light to direct that light into a usable pattern, which is a critical function of a driving light. Lux, on the other hand, measures the total distance travelled by that light beam, which is a function of the precision with which the reflectors have been designed and engineered. It is a much better measure of the quality of a light.

Driving lights will generally give you a greater forward distance, whereas light bars will give more spread to the sides of the road. As technology improves we are starting to see more crossover between the two i.e. driving lights with improving flood capability and light bars with increasing forward distance, but the difference in shape will mean that each type of light will always have an inherent advantage over the other in one area.

It is worth remembering that LED chips contain many microscopic parts, and the manufacturing process is very complex.

Firstly and most importantly, higher-quality chips will last much longer on average compared to those of lesser quality. Given the difficulty in replacing an LED chip compared to say an HID bulb, longevity is of paramount importance. There is nothing worse than having an LED spotlight on the front of your vehicle with a few dead chips!

Secondly, high-quality LED chips will be much more consistent in colour temperature, which means the appearance of the LED driving light will be much more uniform. LED spot lights using high-quality LEDs will have a better Colour Rendering Index (CRI), which is a measure of the accuracy with which the light reveals colours to the human eye.

All Hardkorr products are manufactured using the highest quality materials. We are confident that they are the most durable in the market and will give you many years of reliable service. We stand behind this product with a comprehensive 3-year Australian warranty and a 30-day money back guarantee.

I setup some of these lights on the roof of my house over 12 months ago and they provide a significant amount of light, have survived my salty beachside environment and have been reliable. I would buy these again.
